Being a art lover...mujhe hussain sahab bohat zyada pasand hai..... husain ji ki Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities filmkuch hi din pehle dekhne mai aayi aur husain ji ki bohot sari yade taja hui.
The “marathon man with no expiry date” practiced the king of art that is so deeply tied to the deep roots “ of our cultural traditions that will stand the test of time. Maqbool fida Husain was born on sep 17,1915, in a poor household in Pandharpur, Maharashtra. By the time of raising Husain whose mother passed away when he was an infant. In his long as an artist & creative visionary he made many achievement but also had to deal with many controversies some of them self created. When he made the film Meenaxi(a tale of three cities), muslim groups led by all the All India Ulema council complained that the Qawali song Noor-un-ala-noor way blasphemous as it contrained words directly taken from the Quaran. Husain withrew the film although it went on to win awards on the global stage.
M.F.Husain remained a victim of attacks & hate campaign by Hindutva groups in the last 15 years.The first attack on his painting was carried out in 1996 by Bajrang Dal activist. The accusation was that the sentiments of hindus by paintaing gods & goddesses in an offensive manner.
Though he had faced many obstacles in his career they did not take away the shine of achievement. His famous paintings name such as the “Between the spider and the Lamp”, Horse bursting with energy. In life in his work Husain gave the impression of a galloping steed.
In 2000,when he was a young man of 85,Gaja Gamini, a feature film directed by him & starring Madhuri dixit was released
Husain came to Mumbai ,he wanted became an actor. However,due to certain reason he focus on more painting.
Husain the great lover of life & art had been suffering from respiratory disorder for last 4 years. Husain unwell for several month he died in London on 9th of june 2011.He was 95. Husain death has left a void in the world of art. He will forever,be remembered by friends, family, fans as an iconic painter & thewonderful human being.
