Visit to the Brazilian Carnival

The Carnival in Brazil which officially begins on Friday February 17th 2012 and culminates on Wednesday February 22th 2012 has a number of events and activities all of which entertaining and thrilling. A holiday during Carnival time needs to be well planned so that visitors make the most of their time, money and don’t miss any of the action.

The Rio Carnival 2012

Program Guide of Rio Carnival 2012

The carnival kicks off with the traditional opening ceremony. The Mayor of Rio will hand over the keys of the city to the reigning King of the Carnival popularly known as Momo. This is symbolic of the city being handed over to the revelers for the five day long Carnival.
The first of Samba Parades, the Children’s Parade will take place in the Sambodromo. In this entertaining event, children belonging to branches of the big Samba schools will perform in the Sambodromo. This is a ticketed event and extremely enjoyable particularly for families.
The Black and Red Ball at the Scala Night Club dedicated to Rio’s football team, the Flamengos will raise the spirits of the evening. Well attended by celebrities, this is the first big bash of the Carnival.

Carnival begins with the Cordão do Bola Preta street party. Roughly translated to the Polka Dot Blocos, this parade plays hip-twitching Samba music and moves with its crowd of ardent followers though Rio’s historic downtown area.
The hugely popular Banda de Ipanema will conduct its second block party of the festival. Crowds mostly in attention-grabbing costumes will begin to gather by mid-afternoon at Praça General Osório in Ipanema. At 16:00 the band will begin to play their most popular numbers and the frenziedstreet carnival parade will begin.

The second Samba Parade in the Sambodromo will begin with Rio’s tier two Samba Schools(Access Group). Twelve schools will compete and the winner will receive the prestigious honor of entering the top tier Samba Schools or Special group. Tickets for this event are easier to get and generally more affordable.

The Carnival in Salvador Bahia

The Carnival in Salvador Bahia is vastly different from the Rio Carnival’s more structured events. The Bahian version consists of a six day long parade of Trios Electricos. These are massive trucks filled with sound equipment and with a stage at the top on which well-known bands perform. Frenzied fans follow the trucks through the streets of the city with numbers reaching as high as 2 million. Detailed program guides on which bands will perform and when are usually provided in January every year. As information is released, it will be posted here to allow for prompt ticket arrangements.

The Carnival in Recife-Olinda

Brazilians love to travel to Recife-Olinda at Carnival time making this location a great option for celebrating with the locals. In Recife stages are built in key parts of the city on which dancers and bands perform Samba and other music in front of a few hundred thousand. The carnival goes on for all five days in Recife but on Saturday at 5am, its most popular event takes place – the Galo da Madrugada. Thousands gather at the crack of dawn in the central streets of the Recife to celebrate the beginning of the Carnival.

The 2012 Sao Paulo Carnival

The Sao Paulo Samba School Parade competitions will take place on Friday 17th February 2012 and Saturday 18th February 2012.These ticketed events are held in Sao Paulo’s Sambodromo which can accommodate up to 30,000 people.

Carnivals all over Brazil

Everywhere in the country, towns and cities celebrate the Brazil Carnival. Each has their own list of programs which will be released closer to the carnival dates in 2012. Florianopolis is the place for a laid back beach carnival. In Porto Seguro, enjoy a beauty pageant as one of the events. In Fortaleza, look out for the parades with stunning acrobatics and other aerial tricks. In Buzios, enjoy the most gay carnival in the country.

In My Eyes

He's rough and lacks in etiquette,
Society would say.
He has no classy attributes,
To help him on his way.

He's not a fancy dresser,
And he's not so trimmed and neat.
With simple clothes and simple shoes,
He wears upon his feet.

He doesn't belong to a club,
Or drive a shiny car.
And when he takes vacations,
He does not go very far.

He doesn't dine on fine cuisine,
To him fast food's a treat.
And he may use a plastic fork,
When it is time to eat.

He has a modest little house,
But has all that he needs.
He keeps his lawn cut nice and short,
He even trims his weeds.

He works long hours at his job,
To make an average pay.
And even if he's sick or tired,
He goes to work each day.

His job is just a factory job,
His pay just makes ends meet.
But a few good friends and family,
Make his life complete.

He's not well versed in poetry,
Theater or the arts.
And wisdom is not something,
That he constantly imparts.

He loves the simple things in life,
For riches doesn't thirst.
He knows what is important,
And his family is put first.

The wealth that God has given him,
To treasure in his life,
A loving son and daughter,
And a very special wife.

He never has much money,
And his life is not a show,
But he is still the richest man,
That I will ever know.

To others he's a simple man,
And fame he's never had,
But he's the greatest man I know,
He also is my dad.

Fate

A true friendship unexpectedly and innocently found online,
Who would have ever known that we would find this.
Sharing thoughts and life experiences learned through time,
It was then discovered that this true friendship was a welcomed wish.

Somehow, this friendship came to a quick ending,
Unknown and unseen to both who have come together from afar.
Circumstances were unavoidable and important matters needed attending,
All that was left were the wishes made night after night upon every lucky star.

Many years passed and life changed, some for the good and some for the bad,
Struggling to find a reason for existing and longing for a love so true.
Wondering why life was full of so many unanswered questions and feeling so sad,
Heart heavy and empty; a void that was ever so blue.

Then one day, a familiar sight appeared out of nowhere,
Could it be? Is this real? Time to quickly say hello and not hesitate.
Finally, a wish was being granted, so true and sincere,
It is my long lost friend who I thought was gone forever
and has been brought back to me...
this must be FATE!!!
Do not disturb - it’s Valentine’s Day
Today, Valentine’s Day (as it is now usually known) is hugely popular in the UK, with masses of people rushing out to buy cards, flowers and other gifts for loved ones. Although the way people celebrate this day varies from person to person, one shared custom does exist: children sing songs and then receive gifts in return.
Valentine’s Day is also firmly established in the USA, where it has developed into one of the nation’s largest card-giving occasions and achieved national holiday status. The festivities range from romantic dinner dates and private parties through to huge performances organised by school children. The tradition of Valentine’s Day is said to have been brought to 19th-century America by British settlers, with the first mass-produced Valentine’s Day cards being created in 1847. Towards the end of the 20th century, people started giving gifts, along with cards. The most common gifts are roses and chocolates.
Japan celebrates Valentine’s Day on two separate occasions: 14 February and 14 March. In February, the females present gifts to their male partners, and in March the gesture is reciprocated. The tradition holds that women give men the gift of chocolate. However, the type of chocolate given depends greatly on the nature of the relationship. Giri-choco is bought for bosses, colleagues and close male friends. Giri means ‘obligation’ and, therefore, these chocolates do not carry any romantic association. By contrast, Honmei-choco is presented to boyfriends, lovers or husbands. These chocolates are very special, because they are hand made by the women themselves. Men who receive Honmei-choco on Valentine’s Day are very lucky. On 14 March, also called White Day, men traditionally give their loved ones white chocolate, but this is now often accompanied by other gifts, such as flowers and sweets.
In Italy, Valentine’s Day has long been viewed as a holiday imported from the United States. The Italian’s have their own day of love, which is called il giorno della festa degli innamorati. This day is exclusively reserved for lovers, so family members and friends do not exchange gifts. However, more recently, the people of Italy have started to celebrate the more commercial version of Valentine’s Day. One of the most popular gifts on Valentine’s Day in Italy is Baci Perugina, which are small hazelnuts covered in chocolate.
Valentine’s Day has only recently reached India, where it has been embraced by the younger generation but resisted by many who view it as a western import. The hype of Valentine’s Day begins weeks before the actual date, with companies targeting young people in attempt to get them to spend heavily on cards and gifts. Even restaurants are laden with Valentine’s Day decorations in the run up to Valentine’s Day.
China has its own unique day devoted to love – the Festival of the Double Sevens, so called because it is celebrated on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month. The legend tells of a poor orphan boy, Niu Lang, who worked the fields. He married Zhi Nu, the youngest of the emperor’s seven beautiful daughters, after meeting her when she came down from heaven to bathe. However, after a while, the emperor began to miss his daughter so much that he sent her grandmother to bring her back to heaven. The grandmother took pity on the couple and allowed them to meet once a year – on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month. It is also believed that magpies form a bridge with their wings on this day, to enable Zhi Nu to cross to earth and meet her husband.
Valentine’s Day in Denmark has three main traditions. The most popular is the writing of transparent ‘lover’s cards’ bearing an image of a man presenting his lover with a gift. Another is the sending of white snowdrops to friends and lovers, known as the Custom of the White Flower. The third most popular tradition is called Gaekkebrev and involves the writing of poems and letters. These are often unsigned by their authors, so that the recipient can try and guess the name of her admirer. If she succeeds, she is rewarded with an Easter egg that year.

Nurturing Life

Life is such rat races were all are being chased or are chasing some paths. But life is just not about races and to win or loose. There is more to life then the hard enduring truth of survival of the fittest. We seek life is to work and work harder to earn out of hard testings. Time runs out and leaves us nowhere. At times one feels sinfully lost in ones own activities which rarely leaves time for self indulgence. There are many little things we all could do to live life differently and priestly. Simple things can turn you apart from the rest.........
We were all born original, yet we life in a word so different that make us copies of some others. living life in a best way we are could make vast change to the way we perceive things to be. Take a different route today. We are so used to do things in the same fashion we have been doing unto ages. set a different plan a different goal to fallow your daily affairs. Life is not about different people its about those who do things differently.
Try to approach old things in a fashion and notice the spark in the way to accomplish the task. Enjoy in small things, remember your  last happy date with your friend , the last big laugh you had and how that tear rolled out of your eye. say no to gradualness. A wise man once told a man to try n pick  up a coin fallen on the street he easily picked it a gave it to the wise man, and asked him the reason for the act.. The wise one replied I told to try and pick up the coin but did it quickly easily. by this he meant say that its either like we try to, we can or we cant  A ready way to change the things you want is by following the rocking chair rule. Imaging you self at 80 when you lay in your self at the life you have spent, how is it that you want people to remember you? Are you a kind of person who accept things as they are, or who ignores what exits in front of you? Are you a kind of a person who accept things  they are or who ignores what exists in front of you ? we should look up to people who have made it big. Inspirations always help us go ahead why not try do things that make us different from the rest? Life is child it goes where you take it, its all in your hands if to nurture it or spoil it in zest.
